Architecture Repository
No Chapter 4 definition — closest official wording
“An Architecture Repository which can be used to store different classes of architectural output at different levels of abstraction, created by the ADM.”
Purpose (AC §4.2.5): it “acts as a holding area for all architecture-related projects within the enterprise” — projects manage their deliverables, locate re-usable assets, and publish outputs.

Memory aid
Continuum CLASSIFIES, Repository STORES.
Memory aid — not TOGAF wording.
In plain words
The organized store where all architecture outputs live, split into eight sections.
Plain-English summary — not TOGAF wording.
Worked example
CDIPD's repository space has sections for the metamodel, capability, landscape, Standards Library (e.g. WCAG 2.1), Reference Library (e.g. the TRM), Governance Repository (Board decisions and dispensations), requirements, and the Solutions Landscape.
Illustrative example (Digital University Kerala) — not from the Standard.

02The 8 components (AC §7.1, Fig 7-1)
| Component | Holds |
|---|---|
| Architecture Metamodel | The organizationally tailored application of an architecture framework (method + metamodel) |
| Architecture Capability | Parameters, structures, and processes that support governance of the Repository |
| Architecture Landscape | Architectural representation of assets in use, or planned, at particular points in time |
| Standards Library | Standards new architectures must comply with |
| Reference Library | Guidelines, templates, patterns and other reference material |
| Governance Repository | A record of governance activity across the enterprise |
| Architecture Requirements Repository | All authorized architecture requirements agreed with the Architecture Board |
| Solutions Landscape | The SBBs supporting the Architecture Landscape, planned or deployed |

03Where it appears in the ADM
Phases B, C, D · Steps 2–3
Identify relevant building blocks, drawing on the Architecture Repository.
ADM §4.3.2, §4.3.3
Phase G · Step 11.3.5
Implement Business and IT Operations — publish new Baseline Architectures to the Architecture Repository.
ADM §11.3.5
Phase G · Outputs
Architecture-compliant solutions deployed, including a populated Architecture Repository.
ADM §11.4
04Exam traps
“The Repository and the Enterprise Continuum are the same” → The Repository stores; the Continuum classifies
“The Repository has 6 classes” → TOGAF 10 lists 8 components
“Governance records are kept in a “Governance Log”” → TOGAF 10 calls it the Governance Repository
“The Architecture Repository is the whole Enterprise Repository” → It is one part of the wider Enterprise Repository
“Chapter 4 defines the Architecture Repository” → It has no Chapter 4 entry; see CC §3.11 and AC ch. 7

Q1What can the Architecture Repository store?
Different classes of architectural output at different levels of abstraction, created by the ADM.
Q2How many components does it have in TOGAF 10?
Eight.
Q3Which component holds governance records?
Governance Repository.
Q4Which holds standards to comply with?
Standards Library.
Q5Which holds requirements agreed with the Architecture Board?
Architecture Requirements Repository.
Q6What do artifacts form?
The content of the Architecture Repository.
Q7Which Phase G step publishes new Baseline Architectures to it?
Step 11.3.5.
Q8Is it the same as the Enterprise Repository?
No — it is one part of the wider Enterprise Repository.
